AIC’s Elementary Education program graduated its first students in 1995. Since that time AIC’s Native American graduates have passed the Arizona Teacher Certification exam at a rate of 94%, which is very high for colleges serving primarily Native American students and is similar to the graduation rate of all Elementary Education graduates at other colleges in the state of Arizona.
According to information provided by the Federal government, from 2007 to 2011 AIC had the highest retention rate as well as the highest graduation rate when comparing 7 four-year colleges (schools that offer a bachelor’s degree) which serve primarily Native American students. This is significant because AIC is the only one of the 7 schools that is a private college not supported by government funding.
